Crown Commercial Service

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) brings together policy, advice and direct buying; providing commercial services to the public sector and saving money for the taxpayer.

Made in Britain are working with CCS to support them, specifically with their SME engagement priority and focusing on the sale of British manufactured goods from our members. The Board of Made in Britain want everyone, including CCS to use our Directory for Procurement of British-made goods and engagement with the businesses that make them.

There's a link to the main page here. | Members who are thinking about supplying the public sector supplier via the Crown Commercial Service and its deals can learn more here.

Members can search for opportunities across the public sector by looking at the Contracts Finder website. This includes opportunities advertised by UK Central Government departments and the non-devolved public sector: https://www.gov.uk/contracts-finder

You might also want to look at Emma Jones' guide on selling to government: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/selling-to-government

If you see something in a public tender that they think is wrong or they think  is unfair, or if they are experiencing slow payment once they have a contract (either from a public sector body or from a public sector prime contractor) they can raise their concerns with our Mystery Shopper investigation service: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/mystery-shopper-scope-and-remit
