W MacCarthy & Sons is a London-based, fifth-generation family business creating bespoke boxes and packaging for clients who proudly make their products here in Britain.

Founded nearly 150 years ago by James MacCarthy’s great-great-great-grandfather, who began crafting boxes to sell at London markets, the company continues to thrive on craftsmanship, tradition, and community.

After joining the Made in Britain community earlier this year, James has seen how the marque strengthens the company’s message: that British-made packaging offers real value, from faster lead times and bespoke solutions to the trust that comes with being Made in Britain.

Both James and his father remain hands-on in the manufacturing process, ensuring every box meets the same high standards their ancestors set. Going beyond the traditional sense of family, some employees have been with the business for over 40 years.

As James says, “We've got one lady who works for us, and she is 86 years old. She comes in two mornings a week.”
