WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Potters was founded in 1846, supplying "aids to modern window dressing" to "tobacconists, confectioners, bakers, restaurateurs and those desirous of effecting attractive window & counter displays." With the threat of the Second World War looming, Walter Fone and Charles Rowley, longstanding Potters' salesmen who had joined the firm aged 16 in 1921, acquired the Potters name and continued to trade in London despite the backdrop of the Blitz.

The business survived the war, with both Fone and Rowley offering their services to the RAF and managing their new business responsibilities. Gradually, the company expanded its offering into shop fittings and packaging, focusing on the jewellery trade. With post-war success came expansion into St John's Street in London, near Hatton Garden. A nationwide sales team was established, and in 1973 we established a central warehouse and office facility in King's Lynn, Norfolk, from where we continue to operate today.

Continued family involvement has created a strong benchmark of how we like to serve our customers around the country, providing expert advice to ensure their chosen packaging truly elevates their products. We have worked closely with our leading UK manufacturing partner for over two decades. In 2019, that partner became part of our family as Potters Box Makers, allowing us to develop further crafted, innovative and sustainable English packaging solutions. The combined Potters family now provides more than 500 years of experience and knowledge.

We're very proud of our roots, history and combined experience in making and supplying packaging and shop fittings for jewellers, department stores, assorted brands and smaller high street and online retailers. We continue to evolve as a company while holding the business's original ethos of delivering quality and ceremony firmly in place. 

Today, we source many products and raw materials within the UK and source responsibly if we need to go further afield. We also make sure all our components are as environmentally friendly as possible, so you can be assured each of our products comes from a good place.
