Lapmaster Wolters Ltd SG172 lapping and polishing machine – in safe hands

Since our last posting, the Lapmaster SG172 is closing in on completion as the wiring nears its end, with guarding assembled, and safety devices integrated. The next stages require the PLC to be programmed and tested for several days by our Devon based controls engineers before the machine becomes fully operational.

Our fabricators, who produced the guarding and access steps, exceeded our expectations providing another high-quality machine manufactured in our UK facility. This made for our skilled engineers to fit the complicated assemblies together with minimum effort and to our high standards. Access to the machine is both interlocked and keyed, as well as the addition of pressure mats and sensors to minimise the risk of injury to its future operators.

All these features will undergo substantial testing by both Lapmaster engineers and our Customer in the coming weeks where we will eventually bring you the final instalment of this exciting project  with photos of the completed machine.
