WE have been working on this mini collection for a while and so, we are delighted we can finally introduce you to The Obsidians - Collector's Edition, writes Made in Britain member Stuart Scott. Consisting of three signature pieces including a sofa, a chair and an occasional table in Obsidian black and introducing ‘Black Wax’, a flat black open grained natural wax wood finish with a rich depth of colour created from natural ingredients.
Black Wax, the new addition to our luxurious finishes is made of 100 per cent natural ingredients and contains zero per cent Volatile Organic Compounds and no solvents or formaldehyde; this finish is meticulously applied by hand on both oak and walnut.
In addition, this Collector’s Edition brings The Nicole II. Created in homage to one of our most celebrated tables, this 2nd generation Nicole is made with the same precise craftsmanship yet delicately finessed. It is available to order in all our standard finishes and also as a side table.
When creating this Collector’s Edition it was important to prioritise our environmental responsibility throughout the entire process. Because of this, we have used 100 per cent British leather sourced from a family business that is widely recognised as a global leader in the responsible manufacturing of high-performance hide. They guarantee traceability and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare. The beech wood used to make our frames comes from FSC certified forests (100 per cent FSC) and our solid walnut and oak are sourced locally in Wiltshire.
