DorWatcher (sometimes nicknamed a “door screecher”) is a smart alarm unit designed to stop doors being left open longer than they should be.
Frequently fitted to kitchen doors in student accommodation, DorWatcher activates if the door remains open for more than one minute. The audible alert encourages anyone nearby to close the door, helping to stop cooking smoke from spreading into corridors and setting off the building’s fire alarm unnecessarily.
Once the door is closed, the system automatically resets — simple, effective, and reliable.
