Minh Phan, Mowbray Leather Goods
“Making everything in the UK is key for our business because of the options that are available when we make the products ourselves here in the factory. We can offer better customisation and turn it around within the same day. You simply cannot do that if you're outsourcing your production overseas.”
Minh Phan, CEO of Mowbray Leather Goods Ltd.
Episode seven of UnPacked sees Matthew Stadlen discuss the importance of manufacturing in the UK with Minh Phan, CEO of Mowbray Leather Goods Ltd. Minh and his team specialise in the manufacture of bags, belts, and small leather goods, which are made to the designs of the firm’s discerning customers across the globe.
Mowbray Leather Goods was formed in 2011 to continue the leather-making skills and traditions of the craftsmen and women in the area. Their manufacturing facility, situated in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, brings together the combined skills and knowledge of decades in the leather goods industry, using traditional hand craft techniques combined with contemporary equipment to produce the finest products.
Minh says, “We’re constantly developing new products, but always keeping within the ideal of minimalism, minimal waste, and innovative designs.”
