ABL Circuits Partnering with Seven Kings School to Inspire the Next Generation of Engineers
ABL Circuits, a leading UK-based printed circuit board (PCB) supplier, has partnered with Seven Kings School in Ilford to enhance the school's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum. As part of its newly launched Community Outreach Programme, ABL Circuits has supplied high-quality, bespoke PCBs to the school, offering students hands-on experience in electronics and circuit design.
Seven Kings School, an all-through educational institution catering to students aged 4 to 18, is widely recognised for its academic excellence and was recently rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. The school's commitment to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum aligns with ABL Circuits’ mission to foster innovation and practical skills among students.
This collaboration allows students to work directly with industry-standard PCBs, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application. By assembling and testing their own circuits, students gain a deeper understanding of electronic components, strengthening their problem-solving abilities and technical proficiency.
Industry Collaboration in Action
Mr. Gibbs, a teacher at Seven Kings School, emphasised the value of real-world industry engagement in education:
“What was great about this project was showing the students how collaboration with industry mirrors real-world scenarios. It also gave them a sense of pride in their work, as the boards were custom-made for this project, complete with our school logo.”
He further highlighted the importance of building industry connections:
“This project has shown us how vital it is to reach out to industry, not just to enhance our curriculum, but also to provide students with insights into future career opportunities.”
Student Perspectives
The impact of the partnership has been felt directly by the students, many of whom have been inspired to explore careers in engineering and technology. One student shared their experience:
“Since using the boards supplied by ABL Circuits, I’ve learned how crucial it is to place components correctly, otherwise, the circuit won’t function. This experience has sparked my interest in engineering and technology, and I loved working with the circuit because of its efficiency and user-friendly design.”
A Commitment to STEM Education
Will Leverett, Director of ABL Circuits, expressed his enthusiasm for the program:
“At ABL Circuits, we believe that hands-on experience is key to inspiring the next generation of engineers. By working with Seven Kings School, we hope to ignite students’ passion for STEM subjects and equip them with the skills needed for the future.”
ABL Circuits remains committed to supporting STEM education and looks forward to expanding its outreach efforts to inspire more young minds.
