Cleantech manufacturer maintains culture excellence during significant expansion

The recognition reflects Sunswap's successful transition from startup to established manufacturer while maintaining the workplace culture and employee satisfaction that earned Sunday Times recognition in 2024. Sunswap was recognised alongside well-known brands such as Abel & Cole, Lakeland, Rightmove and Octopus Energy.

The company has grown from 40 employees at the time of its first recognition to over 100 today, more than doubling its workforce with talent drawn from leading automotive and engineering companies including McLaren, Nissan, and Honda.

The recognition comes as Sunswap expands operations to meet growing demand for its Endurance transport refrigeration units. Sunswap’s battery and solar-powered solution enables logistics operators to eliminate diesel emissions while maintaining operational performance. Recent customer deployments include partnerships with major logistics providers DFDS, Birds Eye, while also having announced orders from leading UK manufacturers including Samworth Brothers and Cranswick Plc.

Sunswap secured £17.3 million in 2025 and has gone on to secure over 30 successful trials, Sunswap's production units are now delivering zero-emission refrigeration for leading logistics providers and retailers across the UK and Europe.
