To Steel or not to Steel?

We have been using sheet steel to create furniture and storage in the commercial arena since the 1980s but have recently noticed that metal is no longer as popular as it once was.  We did a little research and noted that since we have all become aware of climate change and environmental impacts, metals have fallen by the wayside as materials of choice.  They are not considered environmentally friendly due to the extraction and processing methods, but the steel industry has listened and is on a mission to introduce more energy efficient furnaces amongst other things.  Furthermore, there are some little-known facts about steel that make it more environmentally friendly than people think.

It is more sustainable than wood as it can be recycled indefinitely without being compromised.  It is resistant to fire and high temperatures.  It is highly versatile and can be used in nearly every industry we know.  It is non-toxic.  And these are just a few benefits of steel.

And next time you want to build, make or buy something, remember how steel is the eco-friendlier choice.
