Product Description

Solar Kiosk SK60 or SK120
Made in Britain • Trusted by Industry Leaders

A Smarter Alternative to Mains Power
Connecting mains electricity can cost six figures and take months—sometimes years—to deliver. The Radio Data Networks SK60 Solar Kiosk offers a fast, practical, and cost-effective solution, providing permanent or temporary power for instruments, sensors, monitors, telemetry, and control systems. Installation is typically completed in just a few hours, provided a suitable concrete base or plinth*¹ is available.

Proven in the Field
Designed and manufactured in the UK, the SK60/120  is trusted by organisations including the Environment Agency, Anglian Water, Southern Water, Yorkshire Water and major industrial operators where mains connections are impractical or uneconomic.

Flexible, Secure & Transportable
Security Options: Standard locks with optional top and bottom turn handles.
Solar Control: MPPT*² solar charge controller and isolator options available.
Communications Ready: Pre-drilled mounting for whip antennas, emergency beacons, GSM/4G cellular antennas, or Iridium satellite modems.
Portable Design: Delivered in two parts for easy manual handling or off-road transport (e.g., in a Land Rover).
Built for Tough Environments
Durable Construction: GRP body reinforced with marine-grade plywood, finished in RAL 6005 green gel coat.
Corrosion Resistant: Powder-coated aluminium solar frame—ideal for coastal use.
Vandal Resistant: Once assembled, all panel and antenna fixings are concealed to deter theft.
Weatherproof: IP54-rated enclosure, suitable for operation from -20°C to +40°C.
Customisation
Beyond standard models, we offer bespoke builds, including configurations to MEICA standards. Battery sourcing and design advice are available—provided we have details of the load profile, location, and deployment duration.

Notes
Foundation: We recommend anchoring kiosks to a reinforced concrete plinth at least 20cm thick, 1m wide, and 75cm deep with chamfered edges.
Charge Control: MPPT regulation is strongly advised. Unlike PWM, MPPT protects instruments from overvoltage if a battery is disconnected or a fuse fails.
