Dependent upon the size of the project, TuffX provides a variety of glass thicknesses including 17.5mm, 21.5mm and 25.5mm and 33mm clear toughened laminate glass which is then incorporated into the pond framework. Unsure on where to begin when it comes to your new pond? Below are two options to look into if you’re a beginner when it comes to keeping Koi or other small fish in your garden.

Fibreglass Framing
Brickwork Framing

Using fibreglass framing will ensure that your brick frame has a flat finish and added stability. Allowing the rendering to sit slightly from the wall, insulation can then be added onto your brickwork in order to keep heat and allow for an adaptable flush finish.

Once this is done, fibreglass can be applied inside of the pond and within the frame itself using silicone sealant.
As a more economical option, your pond glass can be cut into brickwork framing on the inside of your pond. Allowing for an extra 5mm gap when installing your pond window will mean that it will press against the rebate due to water pressure. For the best result, ensure your blocks are cut before laying this, as this will also make the installation easier.

Once the brickwork has been laid and the cement has finished curing, it’s time to add the toughened glass. Placing packers beneath the glass will ensure your pond is level before adding silicone or other sealants.
