Product Description
The ZoneSafe V2I system creates a dynamic safety link between moving industrial vehicles and fixed worksite infrastructure. It is designed to automatically manage and alert personnel to high-risk areas like blind corners, pedestrian crossing points, and busy doorways.
The system relies on communication between a vehicle-mounted unit and a fixed infrastructure unit:
- Vehicle Sensor & Control Unit: UWB Technology is used to transmit a signal that is detected over a long range. The in-cab unit processes the signal and logs all activation data.
- Infrastructure Unit: A fixed antenna/reader installed at the hazard point. It detects approaching vehicles up to 50 metres away.
- Fixed Visual Alert: Warning devices (e.g., flashing beacons, LED signs) connected to the Infrastructure Unit are instantly triggered to provide visual warnings to personnel.
Proactive Risk Mitigation
V2I proactively manages collision risk at specific points by providing dynamic, timely warnings:
- Targeted Pedestrian Warning: The system instantly triggers Active Visual Warnings (lights/signs) at the hazard site when a vehicle is detected, alerting pedestrians only when a vehicle is actively approaching.
- Access Control Integration: It can be integrated with third-party devices such as safety barriers, automated gates, or traffic light systems to control and enforce safe access across crossings and doorways.
- Maximised Reaction Time: Long-range detection (up to 50m) ensures warnings are triggered with ample time for both drivers and pedestrians to safely stop or reroute.
Continuous Safety Improvement
The system provides essential strategic value by enabling data-driven risk management:
- Automated Data Logging: The vehicle's Control Unit captures and stores data for every V2I detection and activation event.
- Strategic Insight: Safety managers can download and analyse this data to pinpoint the most frequently activated hazard sites, measure the success of infrastructure changes, and inform overall risk strategy.
