Made in Britain hosts roundtable on exporting to India

On 6 November, Made in Britain delivered an online roundtable to support UK manufacturing companies to export to India in partnership with the Department for Business and Trade’s Free Trade Agreement Utilisation Team.

The session coincided with the Department for Business and Trade’s International Trade Week (ITW), which offers UK businesses a week of free events, workshops and webinars to get more businesses exporting.

The signing of the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in May has opened up opportunities for UK companies through easier exports and reduced tariffs and is expected to increase bilateral trade by £25.5 billion.

India is the UK’s 11th biggest export market, which was worth £17.5 billion in 2024. The size of India’s economy makes it an attractive market for UK exporters, with a range of exciting export opportunities across a large number of sectors.

The session gave UK companies the chance to hear from and connect with the UK Department for Business and Trade, who offered guidance on routes to market and government support for exporters.

The session was hosted and facilitated by Advisor to Made in Britain and Director at MAP UK & International, George Middleton. It took place as part of Made in Britain’s International Trade Programme.
