Product Description

The JuniorFims are a class 1 medical device originally developed in the UK by a multi-disciplinary team of Podiatrists, Orthotists and Physiotherapists. Fundamentally they are a low profile and lightweight off-the-shelf orthotic insole specifically designed for children’s feet.

The JuniorFims differ from other paediatric insoles available in that they feature a deep heel cup, anatomical arch support and high-density EVA construction. These innovative features combined to achieve a compliance rate of over 90% during clinical trials.

The JuniorFims cover all infant shoe sizes and are available in three rear foot post variants; neutral, 3-degree or 5-degree. Neutral JuniorFims are unposted and offer functional orthotic support, whilst the posted versions (only available to Healthcare Professionals) are indicated for use with mild to severe pronation.

JuniorFims are now recognised as one of the leading orthotic insoles in the treatment of a range of paediatric lower limb conditions.

As a functional foot orthosis, the JuniorFims are often used in the treatment of postural related symptoms and paediatric lower limb conditions such as hypermobility / ligament weakness, arch pain, heel pain and particularly flat feet (Pes Planus).

Children with flat feet have a flattening of the arch during standing and walking. It’s one of the most common paediatric conditions presented in podiatry and orthotic clinics.

Flat feet can be flexible or rigid, painful or painless and it is often associated with fatigue to lower limbs as well as discomfort from the foot up to the hips and lower back.
