Stu Warmington, British Drum Co.
“I know it's cliché to say, ‘Buy British’. The reason we buy British is because it is the best. People all over the world, even now, want British manufactured goods, and we're seeing that. It's the mindset of the UK that needs to change. Don't just go online and buy something from the Far East, buy local, buy best, buy British.”
Stu Warmington, International Sales Director - Marching, British Drum Co.
Episode nine of UnPacked, our online video series that showcases some of the UK’s brightest manufacturing leaders, sees host Matthew Stadlen talk to Stu Warmington, British Drum Co.’s International Sales Director – Marching. A drummer with Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Corps of Drums for 22 years, Stu has extensively travelled the world playing for the Royal Family and Heads of State.
Stu discusses his love for the industry, the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into every drum they make, how their drums are exported all over the world, and used by a series of high-profile and well-known bands, including Iron Maiden and Bastille. He also talks about making products in Britain and the importance of using the Made in Britain Trademark on their drums and on their packaging.
Stu says, “It doesn't matter what drum we make, where it's going, or who it's for. Every drum has the Made in Britain holographic trademark on it. It's a powerful Trademark, which is now stamped on all our boxes too. We make sure that the Made in Britain logo is on the outside of the palette, not facing inwards. It's little things like that and the attention to detail we're renowned for, even just packing pallets that sets us apart from other drum makers the world over.”
