ALS Labs Ltd are a highly experienced, family-run specialist laboratory furniture manufacturer based in the north of Essex offering design, manufacture and installation services along with COSHH testing plus other fume cupboard and extraction services.
Our team has decades of experience in this highly specialist sector.
All of our furniture is manufactured in-house, to order.
To learn more about our range of furniture systems including 3R, Cleanline and our flagship BIM ready FlexModular system, view our updated technical brochure.
Our completed projects include individual supply-only furniture items to full BIM designed multi-story fit outs of new flagship research facilities, across the UK, and abroad, for an array of public and private sector clients engaged in healthcare, pharmaceutical, defence, education, research and development plus far, far more industries.
Of particular note is the University of Glasgow's new Advanced Research Centre; this 5-storey, £113m facility entailed developing a wholly new modular furniture system (FlexModular) in conjunction with internationally renowned architects HOK for main contractors Multiplex.
ALS Labs Ltd beat out modular furniture systems from high-end European manufacturers to secure this prestigious contract and delivered a competitive, premium solution within a demanding schedule in the autumn of 2021.
Through either a central, floor mounted, space-efficient prefabricated steel ‘spine’ with provision for integrated adjustable shelving, or an overhead, suspended gantry, services are delivered to mobile or freestanding modular benching complimented by our full range of storage cabinetry. This modular benching utilises a newly developed proprietary extruded rail, designed to combine the benefits of our existing benching systems; on-site flexibility, full prefabrication, rapid assembly and a clean, internal fixing design with the option to add removable rear panelling to conceal services.
The modular nature of this system is ideal for projects utilising BIM, and we are able to offer architects and main contractors .rfa files covering the full range of modules within the system to enable integration and coordination with the wider project design, particularly service integration, at the earliest possible stages.
