Wharton Electronics began in 1975, sparked by the vision of two brothers, Eric and Robert Wharton. With a passion for precision and innovation, they started collaborating with national sports bodies to create electronic stopwatches and time systems built for performance.

One of their proudest milestones? Designing the first-ever digital stopwatch authorised for motor racing, a game-changer that now proudly sits in the Brooklands Museum. But that was just the start. Over the years, our specialised timepieces have been used around the world in everything from equestrian cross-country and carriage driving to international motor rallies and cycling events.

We’ve grown a lot since those early days, but we’ve never lost sight of our roots. Still family owned, we’re proud to carry forward the Wharton name, a name now recognised globally in the world of intelligent time solutions.

By the 1980s and 1990s, our reputation had crossed borders. Today, we work with over 40 international partners, with exports making up more than 70% of our production. Wharton products have found their way to over 150 countries… and counting.
