Cortech Developments Maintain Carbon Neutral Status

Cortech Developments are delighted to announce that we have retained our status as a carbon neutral business for the second year running.

We all know that climate change is happening and that we should all be doing our part to help with this crisis.

For the second year in a row, we have worked with Carbon Neutral Britain, the UK’s Carbon Offsetting Initiative which is helping British individuals and businesses make an impact on climate change, and we are pleased to announce we have achieved Carbon Neutral Certification to ISO 14064 and GHG Emissions Protocol Accounting Standard again.

In doing so we have offset 128.48 tonnes of CO2e Emissions via the Climate Portfolio of verified carbon offsetting projects around the world.

Offsetting our CO2 emissions is only a small part of our commitment to helping the environment and taking responsibility for the impact our business has on the local surroundings. Recently members of the team planted 30 cell grown tree ‘whips’ on the High Leigh Estate, near to the Cortech Head Office, in celebration of our 30th anniversary.

We also have several other initiatives planed throughout the year including getting active in the local community with team litter picking activities.

In addition to our commitment in doing our bit for the environment, Cortech have also made a commitment to a plastic free pledge, which involves removing or replacing at least three single use plastics items or replacing these with sustainable alternatives.
Jason Blundell, Head of Sales and Marketing, comments “Achieving and maintaining carbon neutral status is something that the whole organisation feels strongly about and are immensely proud off. Only by working together can we make a difference to our impact on the environment and Cortech are fully committed to becoming a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable business.”

We believe that removing the option to purchase and/or use single-use plastics is the easiest way to avoid them in society and that sourcing and using suitable, sustainable alternatives will bring about a change in behaviour and reduce the amount of throwaway plastic in our society.

To fulfil this pledge Cortech are doing the following:

Evaluating our suppliers to ensure we are sourcing from those that are the most eco-friendly.
Asking our team to consider their impact on the environment by influencing their choice or behaviour towards single use plastics.
Cortech are passionate about reducing our impact on the environment, dramatically cutting our carbon footprint, and are determined to demonstrate environmental leadership and influence the market by helping to tackle climate change.
