Member collaborations & Green Growth

Many of the challenges manufacturers face today are too complex to tackle alone. By Made in Britain members joining together, we can facilitate collaboration, increase our impact, learn, and together accelerate positive change between our members, especially in relation to accelerating the sustainability journey through our Green Growth programme.

With our new member collaborations, our overarching aim is to promote, develop and support collaboration between Made in Britain member manufacturing businesses across the UK. To that end, we also want to celebrate and showcase collaborations with a sustainable business focus.

Through our success stories which you can access in the dedicated Member Collaborations section of our website, we aim to inspire Made in Britain members to realise the potential of member partnerships and to begin their own.

Our member collaboration Green Growth programme has seven ‘pillars’:

Pillar

Definition
Governance The systems you use to do business ethically, whilst incorporating sustainable business principles.
Green Growth  Green Growth describes an alternative path of growth. Instead of measuring economic growth in isolation, it includes development metrics to ensure that resources are used in the most economically, ethically, and ecologically sustainable way.
Environmental Performance The environmental impact of your business, including sourcing raw materials, energy use and supply chain standards.
Customer Engagement Promoting and engaging with your customers about where your business is on a sustainable and responsible standpoint, honest and transparent communication through marketing and brand campaigns.
Social Impact Social Impact is all about the real difference you can make to the people and communities around you. It's a way of reaching out to local, and global communities, and how you can either empower or feed into people in need - be it hospices, disability charities, refugee groups.
Made in Britain Ecosystem Made in Britain has a unique ecosystem of members, everyone a manufacturer, facing similar challenges to you. By leaning into this ecosystem, we hope to solve those challenges together.
Miscellaneous Any aspect of member collaboration that doesn’t fit naturally within any of the other pillars.

Why submit a success story?

A collaboration Green Growth success story is the best way to demonstrate that your organisation is active in manufacturing collaboration.

Collaboration success stories are usually written by the Made in Britain member organisations themselves.

If you have a great example of a collaboration with a fellow Made in Britain member, whether it’s been publicised before or not, then we’d love to share it through our channels. Send your story to us directly at info@madeinbritain.org.
