Reducing costs by moulding own products

For years, we’ve partnered with Advanced Air to produce tooling and plastic injection moulding for their air distribution products. Based in Thetford, Advanced Air manufactures various energy-efficient air distribution and fire safety items, such as air diffusers and fire dampers.

During a recent visit, we noticed that one of their products used a costly, off-the-shelf electrical enclosure that required modifications. We suggested they consider custom enclosures to lower their costs.

We proposed designing a tailored enclosure to better fit their needs and reduce expenses. We provided an estimate showing that the initial tooling cost would be covered within nine months, with significant savings from eliminating off-the-shelf parts.

After finalising the design based on our feedback, we created samples, delivered them on time, and began successful production. Advanced Air has since been pleased with the results.
