3T lauded for digitally transforming transport operations at Kraft Heinz

In just over a year since implementing the 3T managed transport solution powered by their proprietary digital transport platform, EVENT, at the Kraft Heinz Wigan NDC, the results have been nothing short of impressive. The partnership between Kraft Heinz and 3T has not only achieved significant operational improvements but has also set the stage for a more resilient and sustainable supply chain.

Kraft Heinz faced a myriad of challenges, including the need to reduce CO2 emissions, control costs, and enhance service quality. However, their objectives reached beyond these immediate goals. They sought enhanced visibility, real-time data granularity, and the capacity to differentiate services on a product and location level. Moreover, the company aimed to fortify its supply chain against disruptions, a critical lesson learned during the driver and supply chain crises of 2021/22.

After a long-term relationship with a third-party logistics provider (3PL), Kraft Heinz boldly chose 3T as their partner to bring about this transformation. The decision was underpinned by 3T's proven track record in digitally revolutionising logistics operations.

Dominic Hawkins, Supply Chain Director Northern Europe at Kraft Heinz, attests to the successful collaboration. He acknowledges that the first year has been tremendously successful, with Requested Delivery Day (RDD) performance reaching consistently high levels. Customers have praised Kraft Heinz for their improved delivery performance and reduced administrative burden, with some even labelling them as "best in class."

Apart from boosting service quality, the partnership has streamlined vehicle utilisation. The 3T EVENT platform has enabled better planning and increased vehicle fill efficiency from 20 to 22 pallets in just nine months. This achievement not only translates to reduced CO2 emissions but also lower costs thanks to a flexible multi-carrier approach.

We help SME’s to digitally transform their transport operations too!

Whilst 3T’s EVENT platform has played a pivotal role in digitising the transport operations of other large enterprise organisations such as JCB and Honda, it is worth noting that the platform is just as effective for SME businesses. EVENT has been successfully deployed and utilised across a range of  UK based businesses including fellow Made In Britain Member, PFF Group.

EVENT is helping smaller logistics teams to reduce costs by; providing access to a wider pool of carriers, workload through automated routing and planning optimisation and invoice reconciliation. In addition to this, customers can access key data in real-time such as transport spend and cost-to-serve enabling further business improvement.
