A New Direction For CQR: Introducing Phil Croker

The introduction of Phil Croker to CQR represents a significant, determined push to drive change across the business. As an established manufacturer of security cable, as well as intruder detection and fire products, CQR has forged an enviable reputation within the industry, becoming a market-leading force across the last 40 years.

This heritage has been built through a stringent dedication to quality, with CQR’s strict testing regimes and quality control, as well as their Made In Britain certification, making them a reliable, popular choice for security installations around the world.

But this reputation, as strong as it is, won’t be the only weapon in Croker’s arsenal. Supported by the OSL Group, a Sheffield-based manufacturing group with businesses across the UK and North America, CQR has the backing of the Group’s full marketing, product development and financial force, ready to give Croker and the team the support they need to achieve their ambitious goals.

Who is Phil Croker?

The new Managing Director of CQR brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role, with a demonstrated history of proactive corporate culture development and a plethora of skills, including: strategy development, operations management and business development, amongst others.

Holding a prestigious MBA, Croker’s business expertise extends far beyond the University of Wolverhampton’s lecture halls. As Director of Business Development at Flex, Croker developed strategic growth opportunities in the LED Lighting market across the UK and Europe, using his strong business acumen to further add to the business’ success in the regions. Following this, he returned to Venture Lighting Europe, where he’d previously operated as a Commercial Manager, to take the role of Managing Director. Here he added to his impressive tenure at the business, steering the business to new heights.

This journey brought him here, as Managing Director of CQR during perhaps the most exciting period of the business to date.

Croker adds “I’m most excited about the journey itself. I believe that the sheer potential we have to grow as a team, evolve as a business and develop technology that will see us become a key player in the Access Controls and Security market is so exciting for all involved.”. This forward-thinking attitude, as well as a strong belief in the potential of the business, is sure to steer CQR to even greater heights.

So, what’s next for CQR?

With The Security Event 2023 fast approaching, the CQR team is gearing up to make a significant impact within the industry. With fresh branding, new senior leadership and a strongly aligned team vision, CQR are ready to make an impact at one of the most important events on the security industry calendar.

Also on the horizon, CQR’s recent merger with West Midlands based Securefast has opened up a whole new avenue of products, further broadening the portfolio of Britain’s leading cable manufacturer and access control specialist. This exciting development is currently being spearheaded by Croker and senior management from across the OSL Group, with plans to further develop the businesses under the CQR name.

Croker’s focus is firmly on The Security Event 2023 as “the very first opportunity for us to unveil the new look, feel and message for the unified brand. It’s a coming together of CQR and Securefast and a pivotal opportunity for us to tell the story behind the brands to convey our aspirations for the future.”
