A new threat to your systems has emerged in the form of an AI chatbot

OpenAI were previously known for their DALL-E AI system, which generates realistic images and art by inputting a small description of anything you can think of.

Their latest product ChatGPT, is a chatbot that can produce any amount of information by asking it a simple question. It can do anything from writing word documents, emails and even coding. For example, if you had a line of code that wasn’t working and you asked it to correct it for you it would do just that in a matter of seconds, its impressive what can be done with it.

However, it didn’t take long for someone to take advantage of ChatGPT and make use of it for malicious reasons. Fox business reported that after looking at underground hacking forums there was evidence to suggest that people were using ChatGPT to create malware, with little or no previous experience with coding.

The ease of which users can now create such harmful software is worrying, and means it’s now more important than ever to ensure you are doing what you can to prevent losing access to your files and systems.

If you fall victim to a ransomware attack you will be unable to access your files until you pay the ransom and there is no guarantee that if you pay up that you will be able to regain access to your files again. Having a backup stored remotely allows you to keep them protected from ransomware and you will be able to restore them should you fall victim to such an attack.

Here at Backup Systems, we offer a variety of ways for you to keep your personal and work systems backed up and safe in the event of a disaster.
