AliDeck is excited to announce our involvement in the Southsea Development, where we provided our industry-leading System 1, featuring the Senior Ridged Decking Board, Low Joist, Adjustable Pedestal Brackets, and our Soffit-Level Piped and Edge Drainage systems. Partnering with Cox Design, we helped deliver a safe, durable, and visually striking balcony solution for this ambitious project, led by McCarthy & Stone.
This development is part of a larger regeneration effort along the southern coast, offering modern, high-quality residential units that combine performance, safety, and aesthetics. Working closely with Cox Design on behalf of McCarthy & Stone, we supplied aluminium decking and drainage solutions tailored to the unique demands of the environment, ensuring long-term safety, durability, and low maintenance.
The balconies for this project are now equipped with our Senior Ridged Decking Board, chosen for its robust design and exceptional slip resistance – ideal for conditions that are often wet and exposed to the elements. Fire safety is paramount in modern building standards, and our non-combustible aluminium boards meet all current regulations with A2-s1, d0 and A2fl-s1 fire ratings.
The decking is finished in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) using our Qualicoat Seaside Standard powder coating, which offers superior corrosion resistance – essential in areas exposed to saltwater. This advanced powder coating, applied across all AliDeck products, ensures that the balconies not only look stunning but are protected from the elements, guaranteeing long-lasting performance. With a lifespan of over 60 years and minimal maintenance, the system offers long-term value for both developers and residents.
Supporting the decking are our Low Joists, which provide a strong and stable foundation without compromising on height or ease of installation. This ensures a smooth and level finish that will remain reliable for years to come.
Soffit-Level Piped and Edge Drainage Solutions: Enhancing Balcony Durability and Safety
In addition to the decking system, we provided our innovative Soffit-Level Piped and Edge Drainage systems to manage water effectively on the balconies. These drainage systems are essential for preventing water ingress and protecting the structural integrity of the building, especially in environments prone to heavy rain and wind.
Designed to comply with BS 8579:2020 and NHBC Standards, as well as requirements from other insurance providers, our drainage systems efficiently divert water away from the balconies, extending the building’s lifespan and reducing maintenance costs for property owners.
Class 2 Powder-Coated Finishes: Long-Lasting Protection with Warranty
All AliDeck products feature a premium Class 2 powder-coated finish to guarantee unmatched resistance to corrosion and wear. Matching the Qualicoat Seaside Standard, this finish undergoes a rigorous seven-stage pre-treatment process, ensuring durability and protection, even in exposed environments.
In addition to a lifespan of over 60 years, our powder coating includes a warranty, offering peace of mind for developers and residents. This adds further value by ensuring the balconies not only maintain their pristine appearance but also remain protected against the elements for years to come.
The soffit cladding, finished in Stone Grey (RAL 7030), perfectly complements the modern aesthetic of the development. This combination of durability, safety, and visual appeal is why AliDeck’s solutions are trusted by developers across the UK.
This Southsea Development showcases AliDeck’s ability to deliver high-performance, fire-safe balcony systems in challenging environments. By partnering with Cox Design, we’ve ensured that every balcony in this development meets the highest standards of safety, design, and longevity.
