MANTHORPE Building Products has shown support for young bricklayers by donating materials to several colleges nationwide. The contribution underpins Manthorpe’s partnership with The Association of Brickwork Contractors in supporting the next generation of professionals in their short course training programme.
Manthorpe have supplied 14 colleges across the country with products, including weep vents, air bricks, cavity trays, and cavity closers. Using industry-standard materials is vital for the colleges’ ongoing training, allowing the students to learn the right skills and gain hands-on experience prior to entering the industry as the next generation of building professionals.
Simon Livett of The ABC Assessment Centre said, “The training programme is our response to industry demand for more, better-skilled operatives in the brickwork sector. This donation from Manthorpe will allow the students to enhance their current skill set and boost their career development whilst learning in a structured and supportive environment.”
Gareth Wright, Sales Director at Manthorpe, said, “We all know there is a skills shortage in our industry so it is vitally important for students to be able to learn practical skills, using real products, that they can take into the world of work with them. One of the most practical ways for us to support the short course training programme was to donate quality products that will add value to the students overall learning experience.”
