Busy times for worksurface manufacturer

THINGS move fast in the world of worksurface manufacturer Wilsonart, parent company to the Made in Britain member Bushboard, which hit us with three announcements this month.

The business has just delivered two weeks of bespoke training workshops for Symphony Group installers.

Symphony is the UK’s largest privately-owned manufacturer of fitted kitchen, fitted bedroom and fitted bathrooms. Symphony installer teams attended Wilsonart UK head office in County Durham for specialist installation training for Wilsonart Earthstone, Wilsonart’s solid surface worksurface material.

Trainer Paul Graham said, “Symphony is a longstanding customer. Part of our commitment to our partners is high quality hands-on, at-the-bench training to ensure they are absolutely confident in all aspects of the process and thus guarantee Earthstone looks perfect in the finished setting.”

Wilsonart has also recently appointed a new senior national account manager. Stuart Wilson was formerly with the BSH Group and brings a wealth of experience from the kitchen industry and its diverse routes to market.

Mr Wilson takes responsibility for developing the Wilsonart worksurface brands with key accounts including DIY and OEM retailers with the national account team reporting directly to him.

One area of success that Mr Wilson will be keen to maintain is the popularity of Wilsonart’s Zenith solid-core laminate worksurface, which has seen new house builders responsible for its largest area of growth.

Available in three convincing textures mimicking either concrete, granite or wood, Zenith can be installed with standard tooling and is available in a choice of three-metre; worksurfaces, breakfast bars, upstands and splashbacks as well as a 950mm curved module.
