Caribbean Blinds MD named Young Business Person of the Year

CARIBBEAN Blinds, established in 1987, is the UK’s leading family-owned designer, manufacturer and installer of luxury external shading systems. From stylish patio awnings that provide instant shade and shelter, to innovative external blinds that keep buildings cool and award winning louvered roofs (Outdoor Living Pod) that enable year round use of outdoor spaces, Caribbean Blinds has the perfect external shading system for every application, requirement and budget.

Stuart Dantzic took the reins of the Suffolk-based company started by his parents, along with his brother Brad, from 1st January 2017, having both been involved in the business for well over a decade. With an in-depth understanding of the industry and opportunities it presented, Stuart had a clear vision for the future and how to grow the company which involved implementing strategic investment in both machinery and personnel development to enhance exacting quality and efficiency, along with a clever digital and in print marketing strategy to increase brand and product awareness.

The company in under three years has set up the UK’s largest louvered roof showsite, with four show gardens featuring their market-leading Outdoor Living Pods, so clients can see first-hand the superior features and benefits, plus a shading experience centre showcasing all the innovative external blinds and awnings. Furthermore, more than £250,000 has been invested on advanced machinery including automatic sewing machines and cutting saws, that ensure millimetre perfection along with new open plan offices and refreshed processes to ensure efficiency and clear communications with clients at all stages of the journey.

By the end of 2018, the company had seen extraordinary growth of more than 60 per cent, with the company expected to more than double its turnover by the end of this year. Stuart is now looking to the future with plans to extend their production facility by almost 40 per cent, to facilitate further growth and ambitious plans to quadruple the size of the company over the next five years.

At the recent Suffolk Business awards, which brings together the regions most innovative, imaginative and inspiring firms, Stuart won the prestigious title of “Young Business Person of the Year”, acknowledged for his forward thinking, dynamic approach along with passion and drive, that has seen his company achieve staggering growth.

Stuart comments, “It’s a great accolade to receive the crown of Young Business Person of the Year, however, none of this would have been possible without my brother, Brad, who manages all operations of the company on a day to day basis and the amazing team we have who every day design, manufacture and install top quality external shading systems, that stand the test of time, with quality and attention to detail at the forefront of everything they do. Despite our significant growth, the company’s foundations remain the same as when my parents founded the company; to provide innovative external shading systems that deliver genuine lifestyle enhancing benefits, coupled with premium quality, stylish design, exacting service, value for money and above all else expert knowledge and advice to enable clients to make an informed decision.”

Today Caribbean Blinds products can be seen adorning the façades and gardens of discerning homeowners and businesses across the UK, including celebrities such as footballer Sergio Aguero and comedian Jimmy Carr and prestigious commercial premises, like the numerous terraces of five-star The Ned Hotel in the City of London along with on the roof terrace of London's most elite private members club – The Conduit in Mayfair and at major shopping centres such as Westfield.
