The security of our customers’ data is of paramount importance to us, therefore we are delighted to announce that  Cortech Developments have recently become Cyber Essentials Certified.
This government-backed certification is awarded to companies who follow the core principles of cyber security. Working through the requirements for this internationally recognised programme helps secure businesses against cyber-attack.
What is Cyber Essentials?
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a UK government-backed scheme aimed at highlighting the vital security controls that will help companies handle the risk to their IT systems and helps to demonstrate a company’s commitment to cyber security.
Launched in 2014 by the government’s National Cyber Security Centre, the Cyber Essentials scheme sets out five basic security controls, that all businesses should be implementing, that can protect organisations against 80% of common cyber-attacks:
- Secure connections to the internet
- Secure devices and configurations
- Controlled access to devices and data
- Protection from viruses and other malware
- Management of software patches and updates.
The UK government now requires suppliers bidding for some contracts that include the handling of certain sensitive information to have successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Certification.
