Dernier & Hamlyn checks in with hospitality designers.

Bespoke lighting manufacturer Dernier & Hamlyn recently hosted a virtual roundtable with leading international hotel design online platform Hotel Designs. It was attended by many of Britain’s premier interior designers and explored the bespoke possibilities in luxury design. Wide-ranging topics discussed included today’s perception of luxury among clients and guests and the pitfalls designers should avoid when deciding to go bespoke.

Dernier & Hamlyn’s head of design Mark Harper, who participated in the event alongside interior designers and Hotel Designs’ editor Hamish Kilburn said: “This was a fascinating event that revealed some very interesting insights from designers who work in luxury spaces. Our ethos is focussed on collaboration with our clients to help them achieve their lighting aspirations so conversations like this are very valuable.”

When lockdown restrictions allow, Dernier & Hamlyn plans to invite designers, suppliers and partners to events at its Surrey factory and design studio to discuss their views on current and future requirements.
