Discussion round-up: Trade missions and fairs

As members look ahead to plans for trade missions and fairs in 2023, two internationally experienced British companies led a discussion between Made in Britain members about making the most of overseas trade missions and fairs.

The 11th October discussion was facilitated by Made in Britain’s advisor on international trade, George Middleton of MAP UK & International.  It covered:

  • Identifying which missions and fairs to participate in and support available;
  • Pre-mission and fair preparation;
  • During mission and fair tips and advice;
  • Post-mission and fair follow-up.

Participants received guidance on where to go for practical tools and support, such as:

  • Market research;
  • Marketing support;
  • Access to the Department for International Trade;
  • Funding to participate in mission and fairs.

Members from a range of sectors attended and contributed to the session.  It was led by Daniel Lewis, MD of Awen Collective and Maria Escreet, Head of International Sales at Paxman.  A representative of the Department for International Trade also participated.

The session was run as of part of Made in Britain’s International Trade Programme.  To read more and for details of other upcoming events, please go to member events or international trade.
