Ecocharger - electrifying the global quad bike market.

ECOCHARGER is a perfect example of a small west country-based company making a big impression on the world stage. This leading UK designer and manufacturer of electric all-terrain vehicles  (E-ATV’S) is starting to generate interest and awareness of its product range across a rapidly expanding worldwide market.

Founded in 2011 by North Devon farmer and entrepreneur Fred Chugg, the company has gone from strength to strength, growing from a small but pioneering manufacturer of electric quad bikes based near Ilfracombe to becoming an acknowledged and very British source of design, innovation and quality construction in the specialist field of electric vehicle manufacture.

As the operational cost savings and environmental benefits of ‘going electric’ sink home with quad bike users, interest in and enquiries about Ecocharger’s unique electric vehicles have flooded in across a wide and varied spectrum of applications, roles, sectors and specialisms.

To meet this encouraging demand, the company has stepped up production at its new purpose built factory in Weston Super Mare, launched a new range of 2WD and 4WD E-ATV’S as well as establishing dealerships and offices throughout the UK, Europe, North America, Australasia and South Africa.

Over the last twelve months, in both the UK and global markets, Ecocharger quads have found themselves operating in a variety of challenging roles and locations including: a holiday resort in the Scottish Highlands, a North Wales power station, equestrian centres, a zoo park in Australia, wildlife reserves in Central America and ecotourism operations in Hungary plus working with the Cayman Islands police.

"The Ecocharger journey up to now has been challenging to say the least," founder director Fred Chugg told Made in Britain. "However, our efforts to produce attractive yet very robust and functional E-ATVs happily coincides with a welcome awareness of the many benefits of electric power sources and represents for us a golden opportunity to make our presence felt in both the home and export markets – electric vehicles have come of age!"

Future plans include the continual development of additional models to match customer demands, increased manufacturing capability and an expansion of dealerships across the globe.
