It feels great when a customer comes back and trusts you with what you value most. We have been fortunate enough to help Frank with his Ford GT40 several times in the past. And we were happy to do so again earlier this year when he stopped by with some very worn metal parts. A little empathy from a fabricator was needed.
Frank has loved cars since he was young. He served in the Royal Navy before turning to commercial law. He has a love for cars and engines, and that love can only be understood when you understand what's inside these beautiful hunks of metal. He regularly attends Goodwood Revival meetings, Members Meetings and other circuit events, but his favourite event is across the Channel at the Le Mans Classic. A must-have for every true motorsport fan.
In the past we've made door pocket covers, and a carburettor mount, but this year it was all about the air conditioning.
You see, the GT40 has very little air conditioning, apart from some "flaps" on the windows themselves.
But that's not very practical or safe for racing, so we were tasked with making some new parts. Without blueprints or sketches, we employed a "trace around the original" method which we then laser cut and polished to size for a perfect fit. Keeping the the car at a cooler and safer temperature.
If you are looking for a custom part for your car or anything else, please contact us. We would be happy to help you solve your next metal fabrication problem.
