THE Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has announced a public consultation as part of its ongoing product safety review. It will be hosting a virtual workshop on Wednesday, 20 July 2022 which will be focused on explaining its proposals and discussing them specifically with SMEs. The OPSS would very much welcome the attendance and views of members on Made in Britain.
Michael Kearney (left), head of business engagement at the OPSS, told Made in Britain, “We are examining the fundamental tenets on which our product safety framework is built and redesigning it so that it is agile, responsive, and proportionate, supporting businesses to innovate and grow whilst ensuring consumers are kept safe. We will embed inclusivity at the heart of everything we do, to ensure that the product safety framework serves everyone in our society.”
If any members of Made in Britain would like to attend the product safety workshop on 20 July, they should email heather.woodward@beis.gov.uk or michael.kearney@beis.gov.uk.
