A recent vote in Portsmouth has been facilitated by an innovative polling booth developed by Made In Britain stalwart's Wrights Plastics
Portsmouth College ran a poll to find the city’s local hero. Polling took place on 14th November at the city’s Gunwharf Quays shopping centre.
The lightweight flat-pack easy-to-assemble polling booth proved ideal for the event. The four compartment design ensured it could handle large volume of enthusiastic voters, and each voter could make their choice - which included Charles Dickens and Isambard Kingdom Brunel - in complete privacy, and with the knowledge that the booth is easily cleaned and sanitised. The booths are also fully accessible.
Innovative Polling Booth Design
Public anxiety about forthcoming elections at the height of Covid was the driver for the plastic fabrication company to develop the innovative polling booth design that saw them develop a lightweight easily assembled booth manufactured from foamex PVC that is easy to clean and sanitise. The booths can be dissembled and stored flat between uses.
Since launch the booth has been used for national and local elections, and less formal events across the UK and Europe.
