Since then though the workforce has nearly tripled, the size of the size of the factory increased to nearly 90,000 square feet and virtually every piece of equipment has been replaced. The sheet metal fabricator boasts some of the most advanced plant and equipment in Europe and sees the products they manufacturer being shipped all over the world.
Dura produces a unique range of modular furniture that is fitted into the workshops of the most prestigious automotive brands including Aston Martin, Ferrari, and McLaren but also undertakes sub-contract work for a number of other companies. Michael Booth, Director and General Manager explained “we are quite different in that we manufacture our own product as well as products for other companies – so they can see by how demanding we are of ourselves that they will get the very best quality”.
With investments in state-of-the-art equipment over the last ten years, Dura Manufacturing offers a complete solution from laser cutting, folding and welding to powder coating and assembly. “We offer a ‘one stop shop’ for anyone who is looking for sheet metal products” said Booth who oversees nearly 60 people manufacturing a wide range of products - from its own cabinets to bicycle storage lockers, BBQ’s, trailers and even municipal vacuums for a German customer.
Dura’s efforts have not gone unnoticed – the company was granted the Queens Award for Enterprise for its export success and its product won the prestigious ‘Red Dot’ International Design Award. The company have also been accredited with ISO 9000, ISO 1400 as well as accreditations for the quality of its powder coating from two of the world’s biggest paint manufacturers.
