Bristol-based printing ink specialist Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd has partnered with Addmaster to develop and launch a new range of Biomaster protected antimicrobial varnishes and coatings formulated for the British label and package printing industry. The new PureSafe® varnishes are suitable for non-direct food contact packaging applications and, with the addition of Biomaster, provide an effective antimicrobial finishing solution for labels and packaging. Formulated for excellent adhesion and printability, with fast cure and high chemical resistance, the PureSafe UV flexo matt and gloss foil blockable and overprintable varnishes have been independently tested to ISO 22196. Gary Seward, Managing Director, Pulse Roll Label Products said, “Combining Biomaster additives with our high-performance UV flexo varnishes guarantees fast, effective antimicrobial protection for the lifetime of the label or package, keeping the printed surface hygienic and reducing the risk of cross-contamination. Biomaster can be safely added to varnishes and coatings without affecting the product’s properties, performance on press or the final aesthetic finish.
