On 30 April, Made in Britain delivered an online session to connect members to NHS Supply Chain, the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) procurement delivery partner. The event aimed to allow NHS Supply Chain to offer advice to members, and give members a chance to ask questions.
NHS Supply Chain is responsible for sourcing, delivering, and supplying healthcare products, services, and food for NHS trusts and healthcare organisations.
Circa 60 UK manufacturers registered for the session to hear NHS Supply Chain, who presented on:
- Product areas procured for the NHS, highlighting many that are not ‘medical’ by definition, for example (and is not limited to): facilities and janitorial; beds; PPE; clothing; and, other general supplies
- Live and pipeline opportunities
- Supplier obligations, guidance and the practical steps involved in winning business with the NHS
- NHS Supply Chain’s priorities, including sustainability
PDI International also spoke about their experience of working with NHS Supply Chain, providing the perspective of an SME supplier, including on the registration process and the importance of partnership. PDI International is based in Corby, Northampton and has been a member of Made in Britain since January 2023.
The event and relationship with NHS Supply Chain sits within Made in Britain’s work and offer to members on supply chains, linked to the UK government and the country’s biggest private sector buyers.
Members can watch a recording of the webinar in the Members' Area [login required], or email trade@madeinbritain.org for a copy of the presentation or more information.
