Message from Natalie Black CBE, HM Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific

His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Asia and the Pacific, Natalie Black has sent an exclusive message for Made in Britain members. It comes in the wake of the news the UK struck its biggest trade deal since Brexit in March 2023, by joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Natalie comments: “I’m thrilled to be joining Made in Britain’s roundtable to discuss opportunities for UK companies to trade in Asia Pacific and how you can make the most of the comprehensive and progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership, an 11-country free trade area.

“Once we formally join over 99% of current UK goods exports to CPTPP countries will be eligible for tariff-free trade. CPTPP’s rules of origin provisions can made it easier for British businesses to trade across the region.”

Members are welcome to join our exclusive event with Natalie on Thursday, 25th May at 9 am who will talk through opportunities for UK companies in Asia and the Pacific region, and how the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) team can support Made in Britain members.
