One Canada Square

Environmental data experts, AirSensa, have supplied Synetica’s enLink IAQ-C indoor air quality monitors into the iconic One Canada Square building in Canary Wharf, East London. One Canada Square is the third tallest building in the UK, comprised mostly of offices with some retail units on the lower floors.

AirSensa provides world-leading external and internal air pollution monitoring solutions to help people, companies and governments understand their pollution exposure. AirSensa is unique in offering calibrated hyperlocal monitoring at any scale, allowing:

  • Companies to monitor all their facilities inside and out from a single seat,
  • Authorities to monitor entire cities or even the whole country, and
  • Individuals to understand their personal exposure to air pollution round the clock.

Synetica’s enLink IAQ-C takes real-time, detailed measurements of the indoor air quality at One Canada Square. The parameters recorded include temperature, relative humidity, particulate matter, CO2, Ozone, VOCs, barometric pressure and sound level, with data being transmitted via LoRaWAN wireless for convenient access and analysis.

Commenting on why Synetica’s IAQ-C was selected for the project, Jonathan Steel, Founder and CEO of AirSensa said: “We tested and reviewed more than 40 different sensors at our hardware laboratory. When you are monitoring air quality on a city or national scale, you need to be certain that the data you are providing is reliable and of known accuracy. Synetica’s IAQ products were assessed as part of this process and came out as one of the leading manufacturers in terms of both accuracy and performance.”

Jonathan continues: “The team at Synetica have been supportive and helpful; ensuring that we get the sensors to the building managers at Canary Wharf in a timely manner and providing on site assistance where needed. As a result, we have now deployed the same solution across all the rest of Canary Wharf Management building spaces.”

Synetica’s enLink IAQ-C was selected for the impressive project as the system measures key indoor air quality parameters with outstanding accuracy and the resolution necessary for WELL® accreditation which requires:

  • MCERTS certified particulate matter sensor providing precise measurements of PM1, PM2.5, PM4 and PM10.
  • Ozone measurement down to single digit parts per billion (ppb) resolution using breakthrough self-calibrating sensor arrays.
  • NDIR optical CO2 sensor for high accuracy and long life.

The enLink IAQ-C provides indoor air quality readings using optical and digital sensors to provide high accuracy, long life, drift-free readings without further calibration.
