Rytons is delighted to announce that Rytons A1® Fire-rated Metal Rytweep® (RYTWEA1METAL) has received Patent Approval. This means that after thorough searches and investigations by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), it is accredited as a new and inventive product for the construction industry, being the first diecast zinc cavity weep on the market.
It also means that Rytons have the exclusive rights to the method claimed in the patent and, as such, are the only company that can make or sell the metal weep in the UK. In turn, any copycat zinc weeps, now or in the future, are an infringement of the patent, with enforceable consequences.
A1 fire-rated, the metal Rytweep® was developed after changes to Regulations meant that components used in the external walls of multi-storey buildings must be non-combustible. This pioneering cavity weep allows the industry to continue to use their favourite concealed weep design whilst being fully compliant with the improved fire safety regulations.
Rytons A1® Fire-rated Metal Rytweep® is part of Rytons A1® Fire-rated Range of fire safe ducting kits, air bricks, cavity liners, sub-floor ventilators and bespoke items that satisfy the non-combustible requirements of high-rise buildings.
