Shrewsbury-based displays specialist Mid West Display have seen the first saplings planted as part of their Plant A Tree scheme.
The scheme was introduced as part of the launch of their latest range of LED lightpockets. The Claralight™ range has been developed to offer a more sustainable choice. Much of the range is manufactured from recycled material, and the cable-mounted LED lightpocket offers a 40% power saving (compared to their standard LED lightpocket) and uses less material thanks to its slimmer, lighter design.
The Plant A Tree scheme sees the Made In Britain member partner with The Future Forest Company. Their mission is to plant enough trees to remove 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2030. They plant native, broadleaf trees on their UK sites to create thriving habitats for wildlife.
A tree is planted for every Claralight order and this week the first customer's received their ecertificate confirming the planting and even providing a What3Words location of the tree.
Sales manager Michelle Farnsworth said this week "We are delighted that the first trees in the scheme have been planted. Hopefully we can demonstrate our commitment to the environment one tree at a time."
