Plastic Fabricator reveals role in development of 'Gamechanger' resin mixer drum

Made in Britain member Wrights Plastics has been involved in the manufacture of an innovative product set to revolutionise its target sector.

The Rhinovator is the world’s first bond-resistant resin bound forced action mixer. With its groundbreaking and patent-pending polypropylene drum, chute and drive shaft protector, the Rhinovator resists permanent bonding with resin, eliminating the need for hazardous and time-consuming cleaning methods – the number one headache of any resin bound installer.

Designed by David Shoesmith of Rhino Surface Solutions, this really is a product “designed by installers for installers.”

Turning An Idea Into A Working Product

Following an internet search, Dave approached Wrights Plastics for help in turning his idea and design into a working cost-effective product.

They developed the most effective plastic fabrication process, and a series of working rapid plastic prototypes helped us refine the drum and chute for maximum performance.

They were able to colour match the material used in manufacturing to Rhino’s required specifications, and vinyl wrapped graphics are added to each drum.

Wholly Made in Britain

The finished product is sent to sheet metal fabrication specialist Hallmark Manufacturing in Stoke on Trent for completion. In fact, all parts of the Rhinovator come from UK manufacturers, a reminder says Dave “of just how world leading UK manufacturing is.”

Just over 12 months after Dave’s initial enquiry the product was successfully launched at FutureScape2024 – the UK’s leading Landscaping Exhibition to fantastic feedback, and the first batch order is currently in production, as well two new projects for products to complement the mixer.
