Envirotect has been working on behalf of DD Porter amidst the challenges of the pandemic to help Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon install a Magnetom Sola from Siemens Healthineers. The addition of the scanner will help the hospital transition back to the usual demand for routine operations between the peaks of the pandemic.
With the pandemic looming Envirotect ordered materials and components in advance to ensure that work could continue and the company remain open. It was appointed to install a copper RF cage and framework was manufactured in panels at the company premises by staff following strict social distancing rules. These panels were then transported to the site and moved into position where any small adjustments were made before final installation.
Manufacturing the panels, windows and doors in advance saved valuable time on site ensuring completion to the original timescales.
Monitoring the COVID-19 situation, Envirotect says it followed guidance based on the information issued by the Government, WHO and Public Health England to ensure that employees working in the office, workshop and on site were safe.
Great Western Hospital is said to be pleased with the timely installation and minimal disruption during at a time when the NHS has been presented with a unique set of challenges due to the pandemic.
