Reduced carbon emissions = Three African Elephants

To run our busy manufacturing business supplying customers on a global scale, Mirius now utilises 100% renewable electricity – a major milestone in our sustainability journey. According to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (1) industrial use of renewable electricity reduces Scope 2 GHG emissions and it is possible to quantify these reductions.

Measuring carbon emissions in the unit of kilograms, we have calculated that the amount of our carbon emissions has reduced by approximately the weight of three adult male African elephants (2). Each month! That’s 36 elephants every year (equivalent to approximately 250 tonnes of Scope 2-type carbon emissions).
