Made in Britain responds to Spring Budget

Birmingham Mail has published an article covering Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt's recent Spring 2024 Budget announcements, where he promised additional help for workers with a cut to National Insurance contributions.

John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain (pictured, left), said in the wake of the Budget: "Our skilled workforces are the backbone of the UK manufacturing sector, so at Made in Britain we support the Chancellor's decision to reduce the tax burden on British workers via the second reduction in National Insurance in a year.

"At the same time, inflation and the cost-of-living crisis have produced wage pressures that affect the competitiveness of UK businesses across the economy. As such, we welcome any effective measures to bring, and keep, inflation within the government’s target and it is very welcome that the OBR forecasts that this is being achieved."

Made in Britain was the sole association quoted in the article and our representation of over 2,000 manufacturing companies includes high-profile firms in the Birmingham area including Fracino.
