Six Russell Compact Sieve® units enable Nestlé to sieve milk powder on finer meshes without compromising flow rates
Nestlé, a global leader in nutrition, has expanded its operations in Chile, a key market since 1934. Responding to increased demand for milk powder products, Nestlé invested in a new, technologically advanced factory in Osorno. To ensure top-quality production, Nestlé partnered with long-term supplier Russell Finex for specialized sieving and separation solutions.
The factory implements strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). With a history of successful collaborations, Nestlé chose Russell Finex for their new plant’s screening needs. “Our ongoing relationship with Russell Finex is due to their high-quality equipment and comprehensive documentation" said Jaime Sanchez, Maintenance Manager.
Traditional rotary sifters, with lots of quality issues and mesh breakage, have been replaced with Russell Compact Sieves® in the new factory. These vibratory sieves, available in 600mm, 900mm, and 1200mm diameters, meet the diverse flow rate requirements of Nestlé's milk product ranges. The vibratory sieve efficiently screens milk powder at finer meshes without compromising flow rates, crucial for maintaining production speed and meeting strict standards.
Constructed from high-quality stainless steel, these sieves are easy to clean and maintain, enhancing hygiene and safety. Fitted with BFM™ connectors for easy cleaning, the sieves support Nestlé’s zero dust environment policy.
For over 90 years, Russell Finex has supplied filters, sieves, and separators to improve product quality and productivity across various industries, ensuring contamination-free processing.
