Shortlisted as finalists at the British Woodworking Federation Awards - Wandsworth Sash Windows

It’s that time of year again, and we don’t mean Christmas... Fast approaching is the British Woodworking Federation Awards 2022, and Wandsworth Sash Windows are proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists within two amazing categories.

What is the British Wood Working Federation?
The British Woodworking Federation (BWF) is the trade association for joinery manufacturing and the woodworking industry across the UK. We have been a member for years, and the members of this federation are comprised of companies in all sectors across the industry, from window and door companies to those crafting furniture. The BWF is passionate about our industry and we share many common values, which is part of the reason we are so proud and honoured to be a part of the community.

Protecting the environment with BWF
Being a member of the British Woodworking Federation, Wandsworth Sash Windows is dedicated to providing environmentally conscious services to our clients with the wood we work with. Wood is the sustainable choice of material, as well as being incredibly beautiful. We’re passionate about crafting wood into something that will enhance the homes of our clients, and this is reflected in the community of the British Woodworking Federation as well.

What are the British Woodworking Federation Awards?
The British Woodworking Federation host an annual awards night, with 2022 marking the 14th ceremony of its kind. The awards evening is dedicated to recognising the success of inspiring projects in the industry, celebrating innovation and talent throughout the world of woodworking. There were countless submissions into the running of these awards, and we are proud to say that we are finalists in two categories:

BWF Heritage Project of the Year
The Heritage Project of the Year award is a new category, introduced in 2022. The Chief Executive of BWF, Helen Hewitt, described the new award as celebrating “the incredible skill and expertise that goes into restoring and developing period properties.” For this category, we are shortlisted for our work on a property in Ritherdon Road, Southwest London. In this project, we simultaneously restored original stained-glass windows, whilst manufacturing brand-new double glazing for the sash windows. The entirety of this project was crafted by hand, with modern machinery unable to achieve the stunning results we obtained. Read full details about our Ritherdon Road project here.

BWF Woodworking Project of the Year Award
For the Woodworking Project of the Year Award, we are finalists due to our work on the design, manufacture and installation of sympathetic box sash windows on a listed property in East London. Our work on this project resulted in beautiful results for our client, and we thoroughly enjoyed our involvement in their home improvement.

Matthew Smith at Wandsworth Sash Windows adds:

“We are incredibly proud to be recognised for our work on projects in East and Southwest London. We are continuously striving to improve our work and provide wonderful window solutions to the highest standard to our clients. We have been members of the British Woodworking Federation for years, and for our work to place us as award finalists is an honour. We can’t wait to be surrounded by likeminded industry professionals on the Awards Evening and gather as much inspiration as we can from our fellow BWF members. We will be sure to keep you all posted with how we get on. Wish us luck!”

If our shortlisted projects, or indeed, any of our many case studies have sparked your interest, don’t hesitate to contact our team.
