Rako, Britain’s leading smart lighting controls manufacturer, has triumphed at both the Smart Building Awards and the CEDIA EMEA Awards this year! Winning Best Lighting Control, Best Training and Best Software Release/Update at the Smart Building Awards in September, this was closely followed by the CEDIA EMEA Awards in October where Rako walked away with the Excellence in Business award and were inaugurated into the Global CEDIA Hall of Fame for their Wireless Dimmer Module!
“We are incredibly proud to be recognised in this way, it’s a fantastic achievement for everyone at Rako,” comments Paul Wafer, Managing Director at Rako. “Both the CEDIA and Smart Building Awards recognise quality and innovation in the home technology industry so to be presented with each of these awards is quite an accomplishment. Being inducted into the CEDIA Hall of Fame is also a terrific accolade.” Paul continues, “We continually look to design and develop new products, providing our dealers and installers with solutions for their projects whilst enhancing the customer experience by improving our user interfaces. In an ever-changing technological sector, it’s great when these efforts are recognised and rewarded“
As the leading global organisation for the smart home technology industry, CEDIA’s Excellence in Business award looks to honour manufacturers and distributors that have excelled in various aspects, including operational excellence, customer satisfaction, innovative approaches, and sustainable growth. Rako was able to demonstrate how it excelled in these areas taking home the much-coveted award.
Rako’s induction to the CEDIA Hall of Fame was achieved with its wireless dimmer module. Launched in 2002, the product was the first professional wireless dimmer of its kind. The technology, previously not seen in this sector, revolutionised how lighting controls were installed into residential and hospitality environments and meant that mood lighting controls could be retrofitted into existing spaces without the need for complex wiring. The wireless dimmer modules were unique in that they could be installed locally and wired in-line before the first light fixture, tucked away in the ceiling behind light fittings, controlling up to 500 watts of mains dimmable lighting loads and controlled by remote, wireless RF keypads. This revolutionary design meant that previous obstacles that made installing a smart lighting control system in residential or hospitality spaces prohibitive due to cost, disruption or lack of equipment space, then became accessible and achievable.
Rako’s wireless lighting control system has evolved over the years and is still the go-to RF dimmer for mains dimmable LED lamps, tungsten, low-voltage halogen and other trailing edge dimmable loads due to the smooth and quiet dimming performance it offers. As Rako and the wireless dimmer module turn 22 this year, Rako continues to be excited for the future with new product developments!
