Spotlight on Member: Kemet International

Based in Maidstone, Kent, Made in Britain member Kemet International manufactures a range of abrasive products (slurries and pastes) and composite lapping plates for precision finishing.

Founded in 1938, Kemet International takes pride in their unwavering commitment to adhering to the stringent ISO 9001:2015 quality standards in the manufacturing of its diamond abrasive products. Recently, the company has further expanded their range to include the production of a series of surface finishing machinery, which includes the SpheriMatch, KemiSphere and KemTech III.

The company initially began as an importer of equipment for the aircraft industry, which included machinery and small tools that were instrumental in the fabrication of ball bearing races and other precision components. The company took a significant step in the diamond abrasive market in 1953 when they began manufacturing a range of diamond abrasive products. The company's remarkable reputation extends beyond the UK, with a loyal customer base located worldwide. In recognition of their remarkable achievements in international trade, Kemet International was the proud recipient of a Queen’s Award in 2009.
